"MADE IN FRANCE" MOTORCYCLE AWARD FOR BROUGH SUPERIOR'S NEFUD
Nominated in the "Made in France" category alongside seven other products manufactured in France, the Brough Superior Nefud produced in Toulouse won the public’s vote ahead of another motorbike, the Yamaha Ténéré World Raid manufactured in Saint-Quentin, and the Dunlop Qualifier Core tyre designed in Montluçon.
At the ceremony to receive the award, Brough Superior president Thierry Henriette expressed his pride in representing a French motorbike brand. "We are demonstrating on our own small scale that it is possible to manufacture motorbikes in France. We have to remember that there were about a hundred brands between the wars, it’s a shame that there are so few of us today. We have a history and know-how of which we can be proud.
Moto journal editor-in-chief Xavier de Montechnu giving the trophy to Thierry Henriette. The Nefud, based on the Lawrence model, is a modern scrambler designed for all types of roads and tracks.
