Brough Superior Motorcycles ended 2023 with an impressive balance sheet, having been on all fronts this season. Whether it’s new customers, new products or an ever-growing community, the Toulouse-based brand has come through 2023 with a bang.

La nouvelle vie de Brough Superior se déroule en effet dans le sud-ouest de la France, ce qui n’empêche pas ceux qui président aujourd’hui à la destinée de cette marque de perpétuer la tradition d’extrême qualité des motos frappées du prestigieux blason Brough Superior, adoré d’un certain Lawrence d’Arabie. Soucieux d’entretenir l’héritage de George Brough, tout en adaptant les nouvelles machines aux contraintes actuelles, notamment en termes de normes anti-pollution.

The Ultimate Collector Mortorcycles box set is a true masterpiece, just like the Brough Superior and the 100 bikes featured in the double book released by Taschen at the end of March. 940 pages and almost 10 kilos for an XL format and exceptional machines, specially photographed in studio for the book "in their natural state" but in a remarkable condition. This is notably the case of the 1938 Brough Superior Golden Dream, which is featured on the cover of the boxed set, of which the Toulouse factory released its modern interpretation in 2022.

Brough Superior has taken a new step in its development by allowing its customers to opt for the new CNC machined engine instead of the traditional foundry block. For several months now, Brough Superior has been running a production line at its Toulouse plant for engines manufactured using its new 5-axis machining unit, alongside the assembly of traditional engines.

In 2023, Brough Superior invested in a Hurco 5-axis CNC machining center. Until very recently, mechanical and engineering parts were machined using a conventional HAAS machining center that could process material in 3 axes: X, Y and Z.

The introduction of the Dagger model represents a strategic step forward in the evolution of Brough Superior. The brand’s General Manager, Albert Castaigne, explains the many areas of work that have gone into the Dagger project.

Brough Superior welcomed a high profile athlete, who is also a motorcycle racer and pilot, on February 15. Renaud Lavillenie, who made the Marseillaise ring out in London in 2012 by winning the Olympic gold medal, also completed the 24 Hours of Le Mans motorcycle race the following year by finishing in 25th place. A skilled sportsman who knows all about what is made in France, especially in the motorcycle industry, and in this regard Renaud was curious to discover the industrial know-how of Brough Superior.

Brough Superior won a major award at the 3rd edition of the Trophées de la Moto, organized by Editions Larivière and held on Wednesday 1 February at the Hôtel Intercontinental in Paris.

A century after the exploits of Lawrence of Arabia in the East, the writer-traveller Sylvain Tesson set out on the tracks of the adventurer on a motorbike. An epic story told in a film broadcast on Ushuaïa TV.

The Brough Superior Motorcycles exhibition stand at the traditional EICMA show, held in Milan from 8 to 13 November, was well attended. Visitors from all over the world were able to admire the new products presented on the stand in Hall 11: the Brough Superior Dagger and the Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro, as well as the CNC machined new engine designed for the latter.

Brough Superior Motorcycles not only introduced two new models at the EICMA show in Milan, including the Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro. The AMB 001 Pro’s engine and its CNC aluminium crankcases were also in the spotlight.

The curtain will be raised at precisely 10.40am on Tuesday 8 November on two exceptional new products presented on stand C80 in Hall 9, at the heart of the EICMA show held every year in Milan in November: the Brough Superior Dagger and a new Aston Martin... plus a surprise!

Brough Superior was well represented at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance event, which held its 6th edition on Sunday 25 September. More than 20,000 enthusiasts came to admire nearly 700 cars assembled by some forty clubs, as well as a few wonders on two wheels.

Albert Castaigne, manager of Brough Superior, stood in front of the Hass 3-axis digital machining mill in action, explaining: "Machining gives a fibrous texture to the material, which allows us to make thinner spokes because the material is stronger."

Exactly one century after Lawrence of Arabia’s legendary race on his Brough Superior SS 100 against a Royal Air Force Bristol fighter, several Brough Superior enthusiasts met at the Margny-les-Compiègne airfield in France to reenact this amazing feat. Lawrence published the original account of his experience in his tome entitled "The Mint" published in 1935.

Based on the Lawrence model, the Leaping Lena sidecar is a one-of-a-kind motorcycle that was custom-built for a Brough devotee in the southwest of France. "Its aerodynamic torpedo-shape makes it look like a zeppelin," stated Albert Castaigne, Brough Superior’s director. He also pointed out that this feature stayed true to the brand’s history: "A third of the Brough Superior models produced before the war had sidecars and they were often used to transport a family because the engines were good at towing."
